WEEK11 - RAPID PROTOTYPING
Hi
peeps! How are you doing? I am here struggling with everything as my semester
almost comes to an end. As for this week, my group had to present one of the
instructional design models which is Rapid Prototyping. Below is a brief
information about the model. Oh yes! Before I forgot, here is our group's poster on this model.
Definition
An iterative process used to
visualize what a website or an application will look like in order to get
feedback and validation from users, stakeholders, developers, and designers.
History & Developer
· The Fathers of Modern Prototyping: Hideo
Kodama from Japan & Charles Hull from the USA
· The first to describe and develop a
process and actual machines that were capable of printing in 3 dimensions (3D)
· originate from two main preceding
techniques, topography, and photo sculpture
· has evolved over time from a
previously widely unknown field, to one with a broad range of applications from
building bridges to printing human organs.
Stages
- Rapid prototyping is an iterative approach to user
interface design that includes prototyping, reviewing, and refinement stages.
Designers move through each step and, when they reach the end, they return to
the beginning (over and over again) until they have the result that satisfies
initial expectations.
1. Prototyping - Creating a solution that can be
reviewed and tested.
2. Reviewing - Share the prototype with the users
and evaluate if it meets their needs and expectations in order to help you
understand what’s working well and what’s not.
3. Refining - Based on the feedback, the designer
will identify the areas that need to be improved or clarified.
That's all for now! See you next time! Bye 💛
