WEEK8 - EXPLAINER VIDEO!

Hi peeps! 🙋 I’m back again with new things to share. As for this week classes, Madam Azida had assigned us with a new assignment. We were required to create an explainer video about a campaign with a duration of 2 – 3 minutes. Madam Azida suggested us to use online video maker or creators such as Powtoon, Animaker, and etc.

After discussing with my groupmates; Atikah and Shalini, we chose to make an explainer video about anti-cyber bullying campaign. This is because in today’s world, with the presence of social media, people tend to downgrade other people without knowing that it will give harm to the person. So, the topic of our video is ‘Anti-Cyber Bullying Campaign - #STOPHATE’. I believed that through explainer video, we could deliver the message and persuade the people to overcome cyber-bullying in a wide range. If the video created can attract people, they will share it with their friends. Besides, explainer videos are always the perfect pitch as you can share it through the network.

Before we started to create the video, Madam Azida showed us a few examples of explainer video so that we could get a general idea and used them as guidance. Madam had asked us to come out with the story line and script of our video. During the consultation process, madam told us to avoid ‘TMI’ (too much information) when doing an explainer video in order to avoid the viewer feeling bored or uninterested. There were a few suggestions that madam gave so that our video will be more interesting. She suggested us to make a story with characters in it and record the audio first to make sure it will fit in with the video.

Here I have some tips to share with all of you on how to create an interesting explainer video. I hope this will be helpful!

  • Keep your script short and straightforward
  • Record your voice-overs to avoid problems later
  • Add in characters in your video
  • Make sure the music and sound effect fit in with your video

That’s all for now! See you in the next post! Bye! 💛
